Murad
Cabinet Card #18 - Michigan Football
Among
the
several
beautiful cabinet premiums to appear in the great tobacco
card era was the production catalogued as T6.
Issued in 1910, the T6 Murad series is a 25-card set composed of color
illustrations in tribute to select American colleges and
universities. They were available only as a premium to
individuals who redeemed 15 Murad cigarette coupons through the mail
for each premium cabinet card. The T6 Murad cabinets measure 5" x
8" and are printed on heavy cardboard stock. They are
an oversized version of the far more common T51 Murad College Series
cards which measure approximately 2" x 3" and are
printed on a much thinner and more lightweight paper stock.
The T6 Murad cabinet cards are extremely rare. To
date, only 42 cards from the T6 Murad set have ever been graded by PSA.
